Reading is Fun!

Dear Optimists,

For new year’s eve we ended up at my future sister-in-law/brother-in-law’s home after a LOVELY day of watching hockey, and their kids, my future nieces, have begged me to read to them for the last few visits. So this time, one of them ran up to me and the first thing she said (after licking my coat, which she does every time I visit for some odd reason) “I have books. I have them ready.” I laughed…and couldn’t believe that!

So I ended up spending some of my eve sitting on a couch with both girls sitting next to me reading the books they wanted to hear. Two different books. That they wanted read at the same time.

But I’m THAT good and succeeded.

Love,

Den

Guest Post! Reading to Children

Dear Optimists,

This morning I went to read to a Grade two class at an underprivileged school in my area. It was really such fun, and the kids were too sweet. They sat there (there were about a million in the class) gazing up at me, and they loved the stories I read to them. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, so I’m glad I’ve started. I’ll be going every Wednesday for the rest of the year, and then again next year.

Cheers,
