I’m a Big Kid

Dear Optimists,

You know what’s fun? Legos. They’re the best. Know what else is fun? Crayons. So I decided to combine them.

That’s right, folks, my creative side came out, I ordered a Lego man ice cube tray and then broke up crayons, microwaved them for about five minutes, then threw them into the fridge. Know what came out? Crayons shaped like Lego men! SWEET!

It’s the little things, isn’t it?

Love,

Den

Den Might Be a Little Egocentric (But Not Egoistic)

Dear Optimists,

Sometimes the world is a funny place. We’re so egocentric that it’s almost cute. And the Internet has made the world so small that I forget some really obvious, simple things.

Me (When I just woke up): Good morning, Nadia!

Nadia: It’s not morning here, Den.

Do you have any idea how often this happens to me? I wonder if everyone does that. I talk to so many people from all over the world thanks to Internet and blogging that I forget. Just because it’s 9 AM here doesn’t make it 9 AM everywhere.

And let’s not even get into discussing the weather.

Love,

Den

Writing a blog

Dear Optimists,

When Den asked me if we should share our positivity with the world, I didn’t have to think much before I said yes. Actually, we already started planning before we even sealed the deal, because our eagerness to share short nonfiction stories of our everyday lives that make us smile shine strongly.

Sometimes my enthusiasm gets too much for some people, but not for Den. He sat there smiling, on the other side of the world, while I was tapping away with ideas. When the steam wore off, he got time to share his ideas. His brilliant ideas. Ideas that you’re looking at right now. This is for him.

Love,
Nadia.
