About Den & Nadia

Hello and welcome to Dear Optimists, which is all about sharing smiles and optimism from the everyday life.

We are Den and Nadia. You always see Den wearing blue (but the real-life Den is making me say he usually wears plaid), whereas Nadia is always seen in orange (even though real-life Nadia doesn’t have anything orange in her closet). Sometimes they’re just in white. That only happens when Nadia is too lazy to colour.

Den has very black hair and a very black beard. That’s because he’s of Italian descent living in the US (but not to be confused with Jersey Shore).
Nadia only has three curls, but real-life Nadia has a lot more. She’s your typical Dane trying her best to sound British.

Actually, Den and Nadia don’t know each other in real life. But someday they will.

    1. Thank you!

P.S. Honestly, I’m not completely sure whether Den has very greasy hair in real-life and if he fist pump every now and then. But I like for people not to think so πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you for commenting πŸ™‚

Positivity and negativity goes hand in hand. We here on DO are not positive 24/7, nor do we walk around with a goofy smile across our faces all day long. When lying in bed at night thinking about how your day went, people tend to think about all the things that went wrong. But I bet that you can find at least one little thing that was positive and fun. Focus on that instead. That’s what we’re trying to do with this blog, focus on the good things in life. Even the small silly ones that don’t seem to matter – thing is, they do.

(And remember, it’s okay to be sad sometimes. We’re only human)

      1. no no i get u obviously u dont carry goofy smile on ur face all day i mean i knw that we should knw our limitations but focus only on strenghts, jus like know ur bad things or times or circumstances but focus on ur gud times n gud things only……i know i know bt the problems is how to change …..a change is v difficult
m working on it n i’ll change my attitude no matter what the conditions m living in
        thanx v much πŸ™‚

        see, i m smiling

  3. Just came across your blog and absolutely loving it! It brings such a smile to my face. It’s nice to come across illustrations that are simple, but clearly shows everything at its best.

Looking forward to seeing loads more of your optimistic illustrations ^_^

  4. Hi Den and Nadia,
I didn’t see a contact email, so I am sending a message this way, though I don’t expect you to approve it for publishing….
I came upon your blog today, and I the simplicity and dynamics of your characters. I just set up a blog yesterday to try to illustrate my novel. I would like to find illustrators who are willing to send in a drawing or two (preferably in black and white) for various paragraph long prompts that I post. In this way, I hope to create a community of drawings and a forum for illustrators to see each others’ work. There could be links to other blogs and some cross-fertilization of ideas. Please take a look at what I have got. (it is just a beginning… I set it up last night!) I hope you will be interested in sending something in, or at least having your blog listed in the blog roll.
