Dear Optimists,
Last night, I was thinking about what I want to do before I die. All sorts of crazy things came to mind: Scooba diving in Australia, bungee jumping, roadtrips with my future children, drive a Ferrari F40 (red, of course)(childhood dream); all things that won’t happen within a reasonable time frame.
Then I remembered.
When I was a kid, I tried building an igloo. It took forever and I never finished.
In other words, one of the things I want to do before I die is to gather friends and build that godforsaken igloo.
Building an igloo – have you ever tried that? Any pro tips?
Love,
Nadia.
P.S. Typical me realising such thing now the snow’s gone…
compress the snow in the blocks really well! make the entrance big enough to crawl through. ummm… don’t forget to make a niche somewhere in the inside wall for a candle!
I think I’m gonna build an igloo that can contain ALL of the optimists! That would be amazing! π
Yep, I made an igloo with my sister in the parking lot in front of our house one year. Maybe not a real one, it was more like a cave, but it took forever and it got pretty big. π
Awesome! Pictures, or it didn’t happen π
I’m Canadian, so of COURSE I’ve built an igloo…that’s generally what we live in year-round. π
Just makes sure that you’ve got a (small) hole that will allow fresh air in! Haha!
I thought so!
Hole = fresh air. Noted! π
I’ve never seen snow for real, so I absolutely have got no idea!
P.S. I have nominated your blog for the Versatile Blogger Award.. π
I can only imagine the feeling when one sees snow for the very first time π You’ve got to go somewhere snowy once in your life (Denmark *cough*)
P.S. Thanks so much, sweety!
On my bucket list is to actually go somewhere where snow falls and settles, so I can do such awesome things. π
Don’t get me wrong — sunny Christmases are fantastic, but I would like to experience a Winter Wonderland at least once in my life! …And build igloos, of course. That’s a given.
*cough* Denmark *cough* I’m not trying to put ideas in your head. Not one bit. Not at all.
Winter Wonderlands are amazing and definitely something one should experience at least once in their lifetime.
Aww that makes me want to help you with that igloo! Never built one, but well I’ve never touched snow or seen it before my eyes either.
You HAVE to one day! Absolutely! I’m gonna have to invite all of the Optimists to Denmark during Winter so we can build that igloo!
I never thought of building an igloo..but you make it sound like fun! π
I wanna try! Could I help?
As a child – growing up in Canada (Ontario) – I tried. It is a LOT harder than it looks. It has to be packing snow and that isn’t always the case…I don’t have any tips…snowmen are easier? lol
Yep- advice: get the kids to do it…when you’re little, everything in the snow is magic…even hard labour! π I kid, I kid…;P
