Waiting for Spring

Dear Optimists,

Even though I love Autumn, and adore the icecold Winter Wonderland we’ve been experiencing here in Denmark; I can’t wait for Spring.

It’s gorgeous to see everything starting to bloom, wonderful to breathe in the smell of Spring time, and to look at all the different animals and bugs that wake up and come out to play.

Except for one bug, of course.

I’m so scared of butterflies that my drawing lines become thicker!

So, Optimists, what animal/bug is your least favourite?

Love,
Nadia.

P.S. You have no idea how long it took me to draw up that scary thing! What I don’t do for you, dear Optimists.

    1. Aww, cheers! I tried drawing one more realistic looking, but it was too freaking scary! I guuuess, it looks kinda cute… πŸ™‚

  1. It’s a damn cute butterfly. My least favourite (but in a strange way, they also really fascinate me) animal would be the crab. Is that really what it’s called? Sounds stupid. Krabbe, du ved. I often dream about them.

      1. Last year I dreamt that I gave birth to one. What the fuck?! Scariest dream ever. And it ended with me cooking and eating my own crabchild.

    1. Oh, I can’t imagine bee-ing (see what I did there ;)) afraid of those – they are more of them than butterflies. Poor Iben 😦

  2. I am not a fan of June Bugs (not sure if you have those in Denmark or not, but they’re really big beetles!). They fly around your head and cling to your screen doors on hot summer nights in June. They’re terrible.

Also, dragonflies might freak me out just a bit. They have 4 wings. That’s just frightening.

Even still, with all of my fear of bugs, I can’t wait for Spring either! πŸ™‚

    1. *googles June Bugs* We do – or at least very similar! We call them Oldenborre. I lived a place where a lot of these resided, and one day the flat was being attacked by them. I must admit I peed a little…

Oh, dragonflies are sooo pretty! (The exact same reaction I get when I tell people about my fear of butterflies, hehe)

  3. I’m scared of bugs in general. I hate moths, but butterflies are okay. As long as they aren’t ginormous. Or don’t fly at my face.

I also like ladybugs, but that’s it. Stupid bugs. >=(

    1. Butterflies always – ALWAYS – fly directly into my face. I. hate. it.
When I think of Australia, I always think of bugs and spiders (amongst other things… like snakes ;)) – must be tough not to like bugs then!

  4. First of all…SPIDERS. I know Daddy-long-legs eat grosser insects like earwigs, flies, etc., but they freak me out there round bodies and GIGANTIC legs…AND last fall prior to snowfall there were two ladybugs which I thought I enjoyed that got stuck in my lamp and freaked me out. My roommates boyfriend had to come dispose of them. Then there are centipedes which when casting a shadow look HUGE and gross, and make me gag. Now we are having problems with carpenter ants…which aren’t too gross but just as annoying b/c they are fast and escape being smooshed.

Can you tell I hate bugs?
    LOL

    1. Dee, I must agree with out on this one – spiders must be the scariest thing in the world. At least inside the house. Yuck! Not Daddy-long-legs, I can actually kill them with my bare hands and paper! :O
Those centipedes with scary shadows would definitely scare the shit out of me, without at doubt! I’m so glad that we don’t have any “exotic” bugs around here :S

  5. A lot of bugs scare me: daddy-long-legs, big spiders, wasps, these weird green stink bugs… also the look of those fish that live in the bottom of the sea. They have such massive teeth and scary eyes and everything O.O’.
