Dear Creative Optimists….HELP!

Dear Optimists,

Planning a wedding is hard! And apparently they don’t make bride and groom lego men as cake toppers!

Anyway, I’m looking for really cool, artistic ideas to make this wedding a little more original, a little more “us” with some neat, cute ideas. Think Etsy, think vintage, think anything you want! I’m asking YOU for the cutest new ideas or additions to weddings you’ve seen. After all, you’ve been picking our brains all this time for optimism, so now it’s MY turn.

What do you think, optimists? Willing to help Den out?

P.S. Sorry there’s no image yet…Nadia’s Internet is sadly down and can’t get online! We’re hoping to add one soon 🙂

More often than not, people wonder what I'm up to. I'm a people watcher, and love to tell a stranger's story, as I see it. If you see me reading or writing in a coffee shop, there's a good chance I'm making up a story about you at that moment. I'm a visual person who loves finding inspiration in my surroundings, and believe that sometimes the smallest detail can tell the majority of the story, if you have the sense to recognize it.

  1. Den, Immediately go to this website: Flower-Brained ( Emily is a gifted designer, both floral and landscape. She also is an event planner.

I worked with her a few years ago at a multi-discipline engineering firm and enjoyed her very much. She understands FUN!

    Her bouquets are amazing, stunning!

    Have fun!

  2. My best friend got married last year… During the wedding reception,
we were asked to write a little letter for them to read, on their first anniversary. It was a brilliant idea. 🙂

The other thing was, they made small mini wedding cakes instead of making one huge one. The minis was a copy of the bigger one which were the one they kept, for their one year anniversary.

The very last thing – they had a Caribbean theme for the wedding reception but that might not go well with a spring wedding.

  3. Ps – ask the confectioner to make a lego-cake toppers. I know it can be made. If they say no – then they’re NOT creative enough. 😉

  4. yeah! you should go for the lego cake topping. that would be cool. i also know that it can be made. have you thought of souvenirs yet? why not give your visitors a vintage photograph from your wedding? how about hiring a vintage photo booth? haha! good luck to you! i wish you’ll have the best wedding of your life 🙂
