This morning I woke to the sounds of loud trucks doing some sort of construction….on my day off. I want the windows opened to feel the breeze of the 80 degrees F (26 C) and to enjoy fresh air as opposed to the air conditioning many of us have been forced to use daily in this heat. The noise was overwhelming, but it didn’t stop the gentle breeze cooling off my house.
I felt the tiniest bit frustrated as I sat at my dining room table, by my computer, ready to write. I had a perfect view of the workers using some sort of road-destroying mechanism cutting some of the road out, the noise shaking my house as I watched some of my wall art shaking on the nails. I watched as an air tube snapped off the machine, hissing and flailing every which way like some sort of crazy psychotic snake, and the man controlling the machine screamed and ran away from it like a little girl. I swear it felt like watching a Three Stooges episode.
I have to admit, I laughed. It’s always the little things, isn’t it?
Love,
Den
Glad I found your blog today. Been enjoying your posts. You have made me smile. Thank you!
It’s what we’re here for! Thanks for reading.
I hate waking up to loud noise! What makes it worse is that I live with 3 other girls and sometimes, noise can be a problem. It is always the little things that piss a person off. Great post.
I can only imagine…but I’d rather wake up to three loud females than street work! Oh but then, I’m also a boy. 😉
